Veritas Lecture 1: Big History-Universe, Earth, and Humankind

이 강좌는 우주의 기원에서 지구의 형성, 생명의 진화, 인류 문명의 발전에 이르는 138억 년의 역사를 다룹니다. 빅뱅에서 별과 행성의 형성, 지구의 역사와 생명체의 진화, 인류 문명에 이르기까지의 내용을 주차별로 강의와 토론을 통해 탐구하며, 사건의 단순 나열을 넘어 시간과 공간을 관통하는 주요 사건과 인과 관계를 심층적으로 살펴봅니다. 변화, 진화, 적응과 같은 핵심 개념을 바탕으로 자연현상과 인간 활동의 연관성을 통합적으로 이해하는 데 초점을 둡니다. 과학적 사고와 융합적 시각을 배양하기 위해 토론, 실습, 탐구 과제를 통해 자기 주도적 학습 역량을 강화하며, 천문학, 지구과학, 인류학 등 다양한 학문 분야의 연계 가능성을 모색합니다. 특히 우주, 지구, 인류를 연구하는 세 분야의 교수들이 협업을 통해 다각적인 시각을 제공하고, 천문대, 지질 노두, 선사 유적지 답사 등 현장 학습을 통해 강의 내용을 실제로 체험할 기회를 제공합니다.
