베리타스 강좌 1: 기후위기와 인류

Veritas Lecture 1: Climate Crisis and Humanity

이 교과목은 ‘기후위기’로 불리는 지구환경 문제의 심각성과 시급성을 과학적, 역사적 관점에서 이해하고, 기후위기가 초래한 생태적, 사회적, 경제적 문제를 인식하고, 이를 해결하기 위한 해법을 모색하는 융합적 성격의 강좌이다. 서로 다른 분야의 교수들이 협업하여, 기후위기가 발생한 원인과 역사적 맥락, 지구시스템을 구성하는 각각의 권역으로부터 지구환경이 작동하는 과학적 원리, 자연적 기후변동성과 인위적 기후변화, 산업화 이후 진행된 대가속의 명암, 기후변화가 인류에 끼친 영향, 인류의 기후변화 대응 역사, 기후위기가 초래할 미래 사회의 모습, 기후위기 완화와 적응을 위한 사회경제적·정책적 해법과 과학기술적·공학적 해법 등을 다양한 관점에서 조망한다. 쟁점 사안들에 대한 다양한 관점과 해법을 강의, 조별 토론, 조별 학습활동, 실험·실습, 현장답사 등 다양한 학습 방법으로 습득하고 모색한다. 이 과정을 통해 수강생들이 해당 주제에 대한 깊이 있는 지식은 물론 통찰력, 비판력, 유연한 사고력, 문제해결능력, 협업 능력, 융합적 사고력을 함양하는 것이 이 교과목이 지향하는 목표이다.
