베리타스 강좌 1: 노벨과학상과 인류

Veritas Lecture 1: Nobel Prizes in Science and Humanity

본 교과목은 노벨상 중 노벨 과학상에 해당하는 노벨 생리의학상, 화학상, 물리학상 중 최근 수상한 분야와 사회적 영향이 큰 분야의 14가지 주제들을 강의하고 토론한다. 이를 통해 현대 인류에 큰 영향을 끼친 노벨 과학상 받은 연구내용이 구체적으로 무엇인지, 그 분야에서 왜 그 사람이 노벨상을 받았는지 배우게 된다. 이를 통해 학생들은 과학 분야의 최신 연구 흐름을 파악하게 되고, 그것이 인류사회에 미치는 영향이 어떤 것인지 토론하면서 알아가게 된다. 뿐만 아니라, 그동안의 노벨과학상을 비추어 보아 앞으로 어떠한 연구가 중요하며, 어떤 연구가 노벨과학상을 받게 될지 생각해 보는 시간을 갖게 된다.
